Refugee boat 'cemetery' on Italian island of Lampedusa

Thousands of people from North Africa have passed through the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa as they try to flee their own countries.

More than 30,000 people this year have made the journey to Lampedusa, which is only 20 sq km in size.

The boats that bring the refugees are dumped across the road from the port in what islanders call the boat cemetery.

Sonali Shah visited Lampedusa to take a look.
