(WDTN) — People across the Miami Valley are waking up to snowy conditions Wednesday morning.

Steady snow showers have left light accumulation in many areas. Some parts of the Miami Valley have seen up to an inch of accumulation.

It’s also causing slick roads for the morning commute with temperatures below freezing.

Authorities urge drivers to watch for icy patches, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Steady snow will remain in the area through mid-morning Wednesday. In the afternoon, just a few flurries will be possible. Conditions will remain mostly cloudy with highs in the low 30s.

Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Jamie Jarosik says wind chill will be a factor due to breezy conditions developing in the afternoon.

There’s a chance for some flurries during the drive home from work around 5 p.m. Wednesday, but no additional accumulation is expected.

Cold conditions remain for the rest of the week and into the weekend, with highs in the 30s.

Snow chances return to the area on Thursday, with light accumulation possible. Some rain may mix in with the snow Thursday afternoon.

Another storm is moving towards the area for the weekend, with a slight chance for some snow in the far southern counties of the Miami Valley. Storm Team 2 will continue to monitor the path of this storm.
