The theme park unveiled a new projection show during the holidays.

Universal Orlando Resort unveiled a new projection holiday show on Hogwarts Castle at Hogsmeade this past holiday season, and there's already a new show in the works.

The theme park shared the news in an update for new additions coming this year. Universal debuted the The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle experience during the holidays, which went over well with many fans — so it seems the theme park is finding a way to incorporate the technology year-round, according to the Universal Close Up blog.

In a section of its blog that hints at things to come, the theme park said "an additional projection mapping experience at Hogsmeade Castle" was in the works.

There are no further details about what the show would entail, but the Harry Potter lore is full of moments that can be pulled from the stories and re-interpreted for a show.

The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle experience is a near 7-minute projection show that turns the Islands of Adventure centerpiece in the Hogsmeade area into a living stage. All of the favorite characters and moments make an appearance in the show, including the Weasley's flying car, Hedwig the owl, a reference to the Yule Ball and a cameo of two wacky, mischievous entrepreneurs from the Wizarding World.

Projection shows are nothing new in the theme park world. Walt Disney World has had a show of its own for years, but theme parks have been able to tackle more complex show aspects and design as the technology has improved. The benefit from projection-based entertainment is that they can be constantly changed and updated to provide new shows.

Universal's new additions coming in 2018 include the Fast & Furious: Supercharged ride at Universal Studios Florida and the new 600-room Aventura Hotel. Other projects the theme park is working on include a new hotel project off International Drive.
