Cross Country Posts Top-Five Finishes Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – University of Memphis' Zachary Wyatt and Chablis Shreffler led men's and women's cross country to two second-place team finishes in the SEMO Cross Country Invitational Saturday.
 
The men's squad had three top-five finishers in the 8k race. Wyatt came in second place with a time of 24:29.70, and Payton Gleason and Tate Wyatt were in third and fourth, respectively.
 
On the women's side, the team finished with two top-five runners in the 5k. Shreffler led the Tigers, crossing the finish line in fourth place and with a time of 18:23.10. Brooke Mussche came in one place behind her with a time of 18:29.40.
 
Both teams placed second, the men behind Tennessee-Martin and the women behind Southeast Missouri. Other participating schools included Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville.
