Extremely poor workmanship and customer service
I recently ordered an engravable wine cooler & a sweet basket. Both of which are to be gifts. I received the wine cooler relatively quickly but when it arrived, it was dented a bit up top & the engraving is very hard to see! I tried to cover the dent the best I could by putting some jeweled tape around the perimeter. As well, I assumed the sweet basket was going to be in with my order but all I received was the engravable wooden ornament that goes with the sweet basket! I guess it's a good thing I didn't have that item drop shipped to the people it was going to because they would not have received the sweet basket & I wouldn't have known!
The day the wine cooler & ornament arrived, I called Things Engraved to explain the situation to them. A staff member told me she would look into the matter and get back to me. Still no phone call the following day, so I contacted an employee via online chat. I waited for a very long time & inquired again, as no one had given me an answer as to when I could expect to receive the sweet basket. No one on chat ever did answer me, except when the chat first started with me and I was told they were going to look into it and asked me to be patient. Half an hour later, I typed to them I had things to do and next thing you know, they ended the chat and never even responded to my initial question or complaint. Later on that day when I had time, I emailed customer service and someone got back to me that same day (Friday) informing me they would be sending the basket out and I could expect it a few days later. I did receive it the following Monday. That time it was shipped via Purolator instead of Canada Post but none of the items in the gift basket match what is showing on the website! Definitely not what I ordered! The people I was sending the gift basket to love ice wine and that was the reason I ordered a gift basket for them that was to contain ice wine chocolates, etc but not even 1 item containing ice wine chocolates are in the basket! What a major disappointment. Never again will I order from this company. I used to buy stuff from this store fairly often when they had an in person store but now that the store is completely online, the quality and the customer service has gone way downhill. Save your money and spend it on another business who actually cares about their customers and 'getting it right' from the get go and if they accidentally mess up, willing to 'make it right'! All of these 1 star ratings by myself and other customers are there for a reason! Wish I had taken the time to look at the ratings before placing an order! Live and learn!
