Extremely poor workmanship and customer service

I recently ordered an engravable wine cooler & a sweet basket. Both of which are to be gifts. I received the wine cooler relatively quickly but when it arrived, it was dented a bit up top & the engraving is very hard to see! I tried to cover the dent the best I could by putting some jeweled tape around the perimeter. As well, I assumed the sweet basket was going to be in with my order but all I received was the engravable wooden ornament that goes with the sweet basket! I guess it's a good thing I didn't have that item drop shipped to the people it was going to because they would not have received the sweet basket & I wouldn't have known!
The day the wine cooler & ornament arrived, I called Things Engraved to explain the situation to them. A staff member told me she would look into the matter and get back to me. Still no phone call the following day, so I contacted an employee via online chat. I waited for a very long time & inquired again, as no one had given me an answer as to when I could expect to receive the sweet basket. No one on chat ever did answer me, except when the chat first started with me and I was told they were going to look into it and asked me to be patient. Half an hour later, I typed to them I had things to do and next thing you know, they ended the chat and never even responded to my initial question or complaint. Later on that day when I had time, I emailed customer service and someone got back to me that same day (Friday) informing me they would be sending the basket out and I could expect it a few days later. I did receive it the following Monday. That time it was shipped via Purolator instead of Canada Post but none of the items in the gift basket match what is showing on the website! Definitely not what I ordered! The people I was sending the gift basket to love ice wine and that was the reason I ordered a gift basket for them that was to contain ice wine chocolates, etc but not even 1 item containing ice wine chocolates are in the basket! What a major disappointment. Never again will I order from this company. I used to buy stuff from this store fairly often when they had an in person store but now that the store is completely online, the quality and the customer service has gone way downhill. Save your money and spend it on another business who actually cares about their customers and 'getting it right' from the get go and if they accidentally mess up, willing to 'make it right'! All of these 1 star ratings by myself and other customers are there for a reason! Wish I had taken the time to look at the ratings before placing an order! Live and learn!

I purchased a key chain from…Things Engraved

I purchased a key chain from thingsengraved so I could remember my baby and to honor her life. In the description it showed a silver keychain, white paw print with black lettering. I had to confirm everything was to my liking. I was not able to find anything on the site that said the engraving will be a different colour. Yet when it arrived the white foot print and black lettering was brown. They wont give me a refund so I had no choice but to file a charge back with my bank. I'm still dealing with the issue.

I will never buy from these scammers again.

Update. November 16th 2023.
My bank decided that I had enough proof that warranted the charge back. Also since the dispute was made I noticed that the key chain was actually never engraved. Get this, it was JUST PAINT. Can you believe that?

I will never order from things…

I will never order from things engraved.ca again!! I ordered 3 items. My confirmation of order did not show what I had ordered only that I ordered. When my order was not correct they said it was my fault because I did not correct the confirmation of order....THERE WAS NOTHING TO CORRECT it only confirmed I had ordered. Very disappointed...waste of my money.

Terrific customer service

I purchased a personalized necklace as a graduation gift that does not look like the website mock-up. The font is so small you can’t read it, when clear on the screen when designing it was readable. They will not refund the item or give a credit or the same value for an item that is not what was shown online. This company is a scam, and provides absolutely disgusting customer service.

Absolute HORRIBLE quality and TERRIBLE…

Absolute HORRIBLE quality and TERRIBLE customer service!!! NEVER buy from this company, save your money and frustration. My item came scratched and dented, I was so disappointed. Their loophole of no refunds on personalized items is garbage… they are an engraving company so OF COURSE it’s gonna be. So they can just send crap and say “ sorry it’s personalized so no refund” 😡 I also paid extra to have my item be wrapped in graduation wrap and it came in CHRISTMAS wrap. They were beyond rude to deal with, I will NEVER buy from them again!

Horrifyingly bad service

Horrifyingly bad service. Paid $15 extra to receive a small 4"x1.5" plaque the week before Christmas. It arrived today and it is literally just two random scraps with nothing engraved ok them. Was offered a $15 in store credit of the shipping fee and that they'd resend my product in 7-10 business days, provided I mail them the scraps. Go literally anywhere else.

Horrible customer experience

Horrible customer experience. Purchased a simple Keychain, with my son's name engraved on it for his tenth birthday to go with his first set of keys.

Got delivered with NOTHING engraved on it.

Despite SEVERAL attempts to have the issue rectified in time for my son's birthday, I got nothing and eventually got ghosted....

Will NEVER use this company again and would advise you to do the same.

If I could give ZERO STARS, I would.

Common sense-less results

I ordered the puzzle piece keychain set. The picture on the website displayed the phrase 'BEST FRIENDS' as being split on each piece BE and FRI on one side; ST and ENDS on the other) so when you put them together, you can read the full words. Cute idea. When I received them, the split words were centered on the pieces, so BE and ST were not anywhere near each other when the puzzle pieces were connected thus completely missing the point and certainly not like the website pic. Very disappointed.

Horrible product and unkind customer service! Very disappointed!

Warning never use this company!!!
We received cups that we got engraved for our wedding and spent over $100. The cups were missing letters, the black was dark on some spots and missing on others. The cups had black splatter marks on the side. They look HORRIBLE!

We are so upset and truly disappointed and will be taking this to further measures as we are on a budget for our wedding. They won’t return the product or deliver new ones and we are unable to give these as gifts because of the missing letters and horrible quality.
I contacted customer service via email and they were absolutely unhelpful and all they said was they’d give us $30 store credit, we are so upset with this company and just so so disappointed.

Poor quality products and poor customer service

Poor quality products and poor customer service. Mugs can only be personalized on one side. Photo puzzles are very small and flimsy but customer service did not even address my concern or request to return.One mug arrived with the handle broken off.

I ordered a pair of wine tumblers over…

I ordered a pair of wine tumblers over Christmas and got rush delivery so it would be here in time and it wasn’t so I spent that extra money for nothing they were also going to put the names for each glass on the same one even though the description said otherwise and when they arrived the engraver spelt the names on the glasses wrong and now won’t answer my calls or emails to costumer service. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! NO WONDER THERE ARE NO STORES LEFT!! THIS BUSINESS IS A SHAM!

Not Impressed, Wouldn't Recommend

I recently went to a things engraved in the Burlington area. I had an item that I purchased at the store engraved, but while they were supposed to be engraving it, they informed me that their machine broke. They then told me I had to come back and get my item and drive it to another things engraved location in order to have the work done. VERY INCONVENIENT. As a customer, it seemed like the staff didn't even care about the inconvenience, they didn't even apologize.

Online review of their online customer sevice. Rude, waste of your time. Take forever to responds to your requests and also tends to get them wrong. Delivery takes forever to come even if you pay $20 extra in expedit shipping.

Inscription badly done and no help from company

I picked a tankard for my sons university graduation. On the website you could CLEARLY see the inscription - very clearly. It appears as if the inscription is on a matte silver... But when the tankard arrived you cannot see the inscription without literally holding it up to the light.. I contacted the website and they told me they are not able to change or refund the item... Very disappointed

I'm really unhappy with the gift my …

I'm really unhappy with the gift my friend received from you. First of all, I ordered an engraving all in lowercase letters (which was important), and they uppercased all the letters. Secondly, they did not write out the proper message: 1. they refused to spell out a curse word, like are you an adult? It's a WORD and 2. I included a very simple Korean word and instead of attempting the characters or simply leaving it blank, the idiot wrote "???" KOREAN IS THE EASIEST OF ALL NON-GERMANIC LANGUAGES. So annoyed.

Horrible

Horrible, Horrible experience. I ordered an engraved necklace for my daughter for Christmas and it arrived with the wrong font! I called and was first told maybe the font I chose didn't fit, then maybe the machine wasn't able to make that particular font. I told her that made no sense because it's on their website as a choice and they also showed a picture of the 'finished product ' where it was clearly visible. I was told to send a picture but after reading other reviews here I won't bother. I also won't bother buying anything from them again. I could tell from our conversation she was just trying to get me off the phone, told me how it's such a busy time for them, it's probably all their dissatisfied customers calling to complain. Absolutely ridiculous, don't waste your money because you will just be disappointed.

TERRIBLE QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

I ordered memorial ornaments. They arrived with the wrong font colour, I ordered black, I was sent navy. I emailed a pic of them and was sent replacements. I received the replacement ornaments and was very disappointed...
Things Engraved had an opportunity to make this right!
Instead the replacements are worse than the first incorrect ones? The font colour was finally correct, black, but the font was wrong now! The quality of the replacement ones was horrible! The graphic and writing was faded compared to the first ones and the font was blurry in most areas! I emailed Things Engraved right away, weeks ago, and they NEVER responded!
Very disappointed customer that didn't want a memorial to be remembered like this and STILL haven't recieved what I ordered and paid for!!!

Font all wrong

If I could show you pictures you'd understand... I ordered 6 photo frames as gifts for my wedding party all engraved with the date of our wedding. I chose the classic script font but the font I received is unlike anything scripted, or even elegant for that matter. Not only does the font not match the example given, it doesn't match any font they have available on their website. It's like the engraver felt like they had creative control and ruined the whole thing I was going for. I will probably never use this service ever again.

I Ordered a Pen. It Was Awesome.

I ordered a pen. It was exactly what I expected. Love the website which demos the font and size so there's no guess work. The package arrived well advance of expected delivery date. The wrapping was beautiful and the note I requested was actually hand-written! A nice additional touch and more personal than a typed out message. Great purchase. Very happy.

Mixed opinions!

I was very satisfied with the customer service in replacing the pen purchased which was engraved on the wrong side. So I purchased another pen and the font engraving for 3 letters was huge! Very different in size compared to the first pen. I am extremely disappointed as this is a gift and I know she will be very disappointed too as her sisters is nicely engraved and hers looks terribly sized and positioned for the pen.
