A free comic teaching new library users how to use their system, using the narrative device of a zombie attack has, well, extended a little outside its intended audience.

Library Of The Living Dead Becomes Viral Comic Hit

Created for McPherson College, a small liberal arts college in Kansas, published the comic as a free PDF for its members. Anyone could download it however. And anyone did.

Six hundred and fifty thousand of them. Two days ago they reached seventy-nine downloads a day, and it's still growing.

Library Of The Living Dead Becomes Viral Comic Hit

Created by C Michael Hall, Matt Upson and Dustin Evans the comic takes a run through the library's various services and lays out the different sections of the library, as zombies attack from all sides, looking for a possible defense machanism. Sadly it seems they don;t have any work by Max Brooks on the shelves. Nevertheless they do find all sorts of materials and spotlight some of the library's more prominent staff members in the process, both alive and undead.
