The Montreal Gazette reports that the Songwriters Association of Canada has approached a number of ISPs in the country to discuss the possibility of starting trials before the end of the year.
The body is suggesting consumers pay an extra $10 (?6.30) a month for access to music content. It estimates that this could generate up to $840m (?529m) a year for the music business in Canada.
