When it comes to powerful women, Asia is the next frontier.

The Fortune Most Powerful Women franchise, which started as a list in the magazine 18 years ago and a conference 17 years ago, is hosting its third international Summit in Hong Kong on March 1. The event will bring together prominent female leaders from the Asia-Pacific region, with the theme “Leading with Purpose.”

This year’s MPWI participants will include Haruno Yoshida, president of BT Japan; Chanda Kochhar, managing director and CEO of ICICI Bank; and Jyoti Deshpande, managing director and CEO of Eros International.

As part of its global expansion, Fortune has brought on board international financial and economic broadcaster Maithreyi Seetharaman. Based in London, Seetharaman is the anchor and executive editor of the flagship Euronews economics show, Real Economy. She has also worked for Bloomberg TV and CNBC in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and she was the primetime anchor of India Business Hour in India.

Seetharaman will appear in on-stage moderating roles at the MPW International Summit in Hong Kong, and she will co-chair Fortune‘s upcoming MPWI Summit in London June 13-14. She will work with MPWI chair Nina Easton and Pattie Sellers, the executive director of Fortune MPW live content, on all aspects of content development, speaker identification and placement, and moderating sessions at the Summit.

Fortune MPW’s focus on Asia is a response to the growing number of women entrepreneurs and businesswomen in the region. There are currently 25 Asian female billionaires in the world, more than half of whom are self-made. This is a huge jump from a decade ago, when there were just three female billionaires in the region.
