The Detroit Red Wings have reeled in a right-handed defenseman.
Mike Green agreed to a three-year deal with the club on Wednesday.
The contract is believed to be valued at $18 million.
The 29-year-old defenseman spent the first 10 years of his career with the Washington Capitals, recording 113 goals and 247 assists in 575 games.
His numbers have diminished since he posted a career-high 76 points in 2009-10, as have his defensive responsibilities.
However, he remains a capable offensive defenseman and power-play quarterback, giving the Red Wings much-needed help on the right side.
