Report: Kings' Richards, Canadiens' Parenteau, Ducks' Fistric expected to be bought out

It may be time to waive goodbye.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports the Los Angeles Kings will buy out forward Mike Richards, while the Montreal Canadiens are set to do the same with forward P.A. Parenteau and the Anaheim Ducks are going to part ways with defenseman Mark Fistric.

Richards, 30, is the biggest of the names attached to the report, but it comes as no surprise the Kings would make this move after the two-time 30-goal scorer suffered last season offensively, scoring just five goals in 53 games.

His production was so low that he was even demoted to the AHL, appearing in 16 games for the Manchester Monarchs.

The forward still has five years left on a 12-year contract that comes with a cap hit of $5.75 million.

Parenteau, 32, appeared in 56 games for the Canadiens last season, scoring eight goals and adding 14 assists.

He came to Montreal from the Colorado Avalanche last offseason in a trade of bad contracts for Daniel Briere. Parenteau is set to make $4 million next season.

Fistric, 29, a former first-round pick of the Dallas Stars, appeared in just nine games last season and didn't record a point, so it makes sense Anaheim would buy out the last two years of his deal.
