The Calgary Flames were rewarded for their best game of the second round Tuesday at home in Game 3 against the Anaheim Ducks, prevailing 4-3 in overtime after overcoming a controversial no-goal call in the third period.

Mikael Backlund scored 4:24 into the extra period after Johnny Gaudreau tied the contest with 19.5 seconds remaining in regulation. Calgary trails Anaheim 2-1 in their series and can pull even with a victory Thursday.

Star Performer: Ryan Getzlaf continued his torrid scoring pace against Calgary with another multi-point effort. The Ducks captain recorded two assists, bringing his point total to eight (one goal, seven assists) in three games.

Turning Point: Calgary could have folded after an apparent tying goal by Sam Bennett didn't count due to inconclusive video evidence, but Gaudreau brought the Flames back to life with a power-play goal to force overtime.

Goalie Comparison: Frederik Andersen and Karri Ramo both faced 21 shots in a contest that was anything but a goaltending duel.

Goalie Shots GA Saves SV%
Andersen 21 4 17 .810
Ramo 21 3 18 .857

Top Highlight: Joe Colborne scored a beautiful short-handed goal in the second period, faking a backhand before sliding a forehand deke around Andersen.

Stat of the Night: The Flames seem to like playing Game 3s. Calgary has won the third game in each of its last seven playoff series, dating back to its 2004 Stanley Cup final appearance against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
