This community of people claims to be the descendants of Suryavanshis amongst the Kshatriyas. Once a noted Sanskrit poet described the rulers of this community as Raghukula Tilaka. It is believed that during the times of Mahabharata this community spread from the regions of Mathura to parts of Gujarat around Dwaraka, thanks to Lord Krishna. One noted cricketer who belongs to this community is Shoaib Akhtar.
