This luminary was baptized with a series of 8 names honoring several saints and his relatives. His father was a professor of arts at the School of Crafts and a curator at the museum from where they hailed, Malaga. Post his sister’s tragic death due to diphtheria, the family moved to Barcelona where his father got him associated with the School of Fine Arts. Quite interestingly his last words were “Drink to me, drink to my health, you know I can’t drink anymore”, where he was entertaining his guests during a party at home.
