Scotiabank has announced the cancellation of their funeral trust program.

What does that mean if you have paid for your arrangements ahead of time?

 

Caul’s Funeral Home is giving notice that we are moving prepaid funeral funds from Scotiabank to another financial institution: TruStage Life of Canada (formerly known as Assurant Life of Canada), whose primary focus is on the funding of prearranged funeral plans.  

 

A great amount of time and research has gone into making this recommendation. After considering a number of financial institutions, TruStage Life of Canada has been chosen for its better design of a prearranged funeral funding program. TruStage also provides their clients with the highest level of protection for the safety and security of their deposits.

 

If you currently have a prearranged funeral plan on file at Caul’s, you will receive a phone call from one of our representatives to ensure the contact information we have on file for you is up-to-date. You will then receive relevant paperwork in the mail to sign and return to indicate the transfer of your pre-arrangement deposits. Please note that your pre-arranged plans are not changed in any way during this process.

 

If you have any questions about the information that you have received, please call our representative, Jocelyne LeBlanc, directly at 1-877-934-0982. Jocelyne is authorized by Caul’s Funeral Home to review and obtain consent for this transfer.
