Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it's up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in Saturday's paper.
This week's question
I am a painter/decorator who is struggling in the recession. I have always been a great painter – relying on word of mouth recommendations – but terrible at marketing myself. Do I need a website, or is leafleting better? What about Yellow Pages? I am desperate to turn it around. What works for other sole traders?
