Drug abuse has far reaching effects and tends to decrease the quality of life not only for the addict, but those around him. Many families have been destroyed because of drug abuse problems. An addict soon finds that his entire world changes because of his habit. Jobs are lost, families are destroyed, and even communities suffer as a result of drug abuse.

While it would be ideal to eliminate all substances that lead to abuse, that would be impractical. There must be more long-lasting and educational solutions to drug abuse problems. Ignorance is bliss, even among young people.
