On September 30th, Prince will release two new studio albums: a solo LP titled ART OFFICIAL AGE and the debut full-length from his band 3rdEyeGirl, PLECTRUMELECTRUM. Already, we’ve heard a host of tracks from both releases, including “BREAKDOWN”, “BREAKFAST CAN WAIT”, “THIS COULD BE US”, “PRETZELBODYLOGIC”, “FIXURLIFEUP”, and “CLOUDS”. (Ed. Today, the Purple One has shared the studio version of the ART OFFICIAL AGE single “FUNKNROLL”, which he debuted live during his takeover of The Arsenio Hall Show earlier this year. With its glitchy drum machines and tiered harmonies, the track pops and sparkles with the added panache of some playful new wave, helping to really flesh out the lusty melodies and endlessly funky grooves.
