Dear Family and Friends,
For as long as I can remember, my desire for my life has been one thing: For God to take all the passions, visions, and dreams that He has placed in me and use them for His glory: to work out His word in radical ways and to help bring healing to the desperate.
Through lots of prayer and God-ordained circumstances, this past June and July I had the amazing privilege of going to Cambodia as a staff worship leader for an organization called Steps of Justice. I was able to take both my passion for leading worship and my heart for justice and work them in ways I never thought possible.
In Cambodia, my life was forever changed because of what God allowed me to see and do. He broke my heart for the poor as I walked through villages where little children were living in homes made of trash in the worst conditions imaginable. He opened my eyes to the hurting as I met girls who have been forced into prostitution and sex work and who now feel worthless because they can't see a way out of their situation. He softened my spirit for the lost as I saw hundreds of Buddhist monks going from house to house, taking what little money families had and offering them hope and blessings on behalf of a futile god. This is the reality that most Cambodians face everyday.
I share this with you because I believe that God is calling me back to Cambodia for a season to continue fighting for the freedom of girls like the ones He broke my heart for and to share the love and truth of Jesus with as many people as I possibly can. I will be returning under Steps of Justice to work primarily with an organization called Children At Risk. This organization is doing amazing things in villages, including building homes for impoverished families and providing for the needs of children by educating them and implementing sanitation practices.
In order for me to be able to pursue this opportunity, I am inviting you to join with me in praying for the people of Cambodia and asking if you would pray about financially supporting me and the call I believe God has placed on my heart for these people. I plan to leave the first week of November and return at the end of February. I will need approximately $8,000 to cover the cost of travel, rent, local transportation, meals, and other expenses including ministry opportunities.
