Ekiti 2014: APC Governorship Primary to hold April 12

Against the earlier speculated rumour that All progressive Congress is a party of ‘imposition’ as coined by opposition.

The leadership of APC today in Abuja re affirmed the status quo of the party and what makes the APC difference from association of failure that has been steering the wheel of leadership in the state by announcing the party activities and process for a successful conduct of election in Ekiti.

The APC National Organising Secretary,Osita Izulaso in Abuja today said “APC is ready to hold party primary in Ekiti which is slated to hold April 12 while Party congress holds April 5”. The Secretary, Senator Osita said the purchase of the nomination form is in line with the constitution of the APC and the Electoral Act and will be followed by a primary election for gubernatorial aspirants on 12th April.

He further charged all party leaders to respect and uphold the party culture and principle.

“We are the difference, our party is stable. We are bound by the efforts of conducting a credible primary for our Governorship candidates as long as they express interest .

Also, in his words, Alhaji Musa Tijani, however, lauded Gov Fayemi’s landmark achievement in Ekiti. “We have done our evaluation and investigation; it thus pleased us to identify with you as the true representative of APC ideology.

Gov Fayemi sought re-election under the party, APC and picked his expression of interest and nomination form at the Party Secretariat today, having in attendance some National Party leaders like National Vice Chairman, South-West, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, National Secretary, Alh Tijani Musa, Senators from Ekiti led by Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Sen Olubunmi Adetumbi. House of Representative Members, Dr Ife Arowosoge, Mr Bamidele Faparusi, Robinson Ajiboye, Oyetunji Ojo.

While, High Chief Jide Awe, Interim State Chairman led party leaders to Abuja. Also in attendance are Deputy Governor, Prof Modupe Adelabu, Director General of Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation, Hon Bimbo Daramola.

Fayemi acknowledging the receipt of the Form said, “am in Abuja today because our party members in Ekiti today demanded my return, they have charged me again to sustain the legacy we have established which is a landmark of consolidation to the good work in Ekiti.

My expression of interest is in the interest of Ekiti people and the intention to sustain our collective contribution towards the growth of Ekiti.

Fayemi, didn’t go without recognising the challenges facing our dear nation under the leadership of people. He said,
“Our young people sought for employment but were given death reward. The very in humane treatment meted to our young people nationwide in the course of the recently conducted recruitment exercise of the Nigerian Immigration Service is a sad commentary to the degree of incompetence that pervades our federal government under the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). I strongly condemn this ugly incident which is a shame to us as a country”, he said.

Fayemi commiserated with the family of the deceased and observed a minute silence for innocents souls lost last week during NIS test.

Fayemi also called on Nigerians to reject the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the coming general elections, stressing that the mishandling of the recent Immigration recruitment exercise in which scores of applicants lost their lives is enough reason to send the ruling party at the centre packing.

While urging Ekiti people to be very vigilant in the “coming days”, the Governor charged them not to be swayed by the deception of some people who seek power in the State so as to impede the developmental gains which his administration has achieved in the last 3 years.

He later presented his bank draft for his form as the National Organising Secretary avail him the form to him.
