MEININGER hotel group and Peter Simmel have signed an agreement for a hotel in Dresden. The new building will be located right opposite the central station at Wiener Platz 2. The 165 rooms and 639 beds hotel is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2021.

The MEININGER hotel Dresden is adjacent to the central station. The site can be easily accessed by public transport. The new central bus station of Dresden is planned to be erected next to the hotel during the construction period. The center is a short walk from the site.

The hotel will be part of a mixed used building that contains an EDEKA supermarket, offices and large parking facilities. The hotel is planned with a gross floor area of 7600 sqm and starts from the first floor. It will offer all typical features of a MEININGER hotel such as reception, lobby, lounge, breakfast room and bar as well as guest kitchen and games zone. The 165 modern and well-equipped rooms with 639 beds in total will be distributed on four floors. Due to the flexible room concept of a MEININGER hotel the accommodation will range from classic double rooms and private multiple-bed rooms to a bed in a dormitory.

“We are all the more pleased about this new and excellent addition to our fast-growing portfolio,” said Hannes Spanring, MEININGER Hotels CEO. “Dresden is an important cultural, educational and political hub in Germany and Europe. It’s a diverse city which has a lot to offer and attracts urban travellers from all over the world. With 4,3 million overnight stays per year, Dresden ranks number seven in Germany.”
