ON THE CATWALK: Australian brand Misha Collection tapped Bella Hadid to walk the runway next month at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia and appear in a campaign for the brand’s resort 2017 line.
The model, who is the younger sister of model Gigi Hadid, is expected to open and close the show.
Misha launched three years ago with retail distribution that includes Neiman Marcus, Revolve, Shopbop, Dash and Nordstrom in addition to specialty boutiques. The relatively young company has managed to get its slim-fitting dresses and pantsuits onto stars such as Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Eva Longoria and Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
“Bella Hadid is one of today’s foremost models,” Misha creative director Michelle Aznavorian said. “Bella has an alluring sense of self, she is both charming and confident. Bella is not afraid of making a statement, expressing herself through her thoughtful style choices. She perfectly embodies the Misha Collection woman.”
The deal between the two evolved organically, according to a spokeswoman for the brand, with the model having worn the line for some time prior to this announcement.
Aside from walking the runway, Hadid is expected to appear in a digital ad campaign for the brand’s resort collection. The deal is exclusively for Misha’s resort collection, the spokeswoman confirmed.
