Todd McShay projects Myles Jack to Dolphins in post-combine mock draft

The NFL combine is in the books and the draft is approximately two months away. This is the time when projections start to ramp up and the picture becomes clearer for prospects and teams.

ESPN college scouting director Todd McShay provided his latest mock draft on Wednesday. Let’s examine his selection for the Miami Dolphins at No. 8 overall:

McShay’s pick: LB Myles Jack

School: UCLA

2015 stats: 15 tackles, one interception

Analysis: This projection makes a lot of sense for the Dolphins. Linebacker is their biggest need and Jack is widely considered the top prospect at that position. Jack brings athleticism and playmaking ability Miami desperately needs playing behind stud defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Jack’s tape shows he flows to the ball well and can cover a lot of ground against the pass. However, a season-ending knee injury limited him to just three games last year. Most teams are going off his sophomore tape to project how well he will do in the NFL. Jack also didn't run last week at the combine. UCLA's pro day will be big for Jack to erase concerns.
