THE GAME
Delaware State (7-21; 5-8 MEAC) begins its final regular season road swing with a visit to arch-rival UMES. The Hornets are trying to bounce back from an 82-72 loss to MEAC leader Hampton on  Monday. The loss snapped a three-game win streak for DSU, which is tied with North Carolina A&T for eighth place in the current MEAC standings with three regular season games remaining. Monday's loss to Hampton overshadowed a career performance by Hornet freshman guard Devin Morgan, who led all players with 31 points. Morgan was 10-for-19 from the field, including five-of-nine from three-point territory, and perfect on six free throws. His previous high was 27 vs. Morgan State on Jan. 9. Morgan is tops on the Hornets in scoring (11.8 ppg), rebounding (3.3 pg), assists (75) and three-point field goals (58).

UMES (8-21; 5-9 MEAC) brings a five-game losing streak into the contest, including three in a row at home. The Hawks are coming off an 81-80 double-overtime home loss to Florida A&M on Monday. Florida A&M scored the game-winning points on a jumper with seven seconds left in the second overtime. Devin Martin led four UMES players in double-figures with 24 points, while Dominique Elliot had 19 points and a team-high 12 rebounds in the contest. Martin is tops on the team and tied for third in the MEAC in scoring at 17.2 points per game. Elliott is 12th in the league in scoring (14.4 ppg) and third in rebounding (8.0 pg) and field goal percentage (.536). UMES is second in the MEAC in team field goal percentage (.435).
