(Dover, Del.) – Freshman sensation NaJai Pollard netted her eighth Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week honor Monday afternoon, after totaling 43 points (16-of-33), 20 rebounds, seven assists, six blocks and four steals over the course of two games, highlighted by totaling her team-leading fifth double-double of the season in DSU's 84-79 loss at Coppin State last Monday.

Against the Eagles, Pollard registered a career-high 26 points (8-of-19), in addition recording 12 boards, five assists, four blocks and a steal.  Later in the week, the Lady Hornets pulled out a 64-61 home victory over Norfolk State, whereas Pollard chipped in 17 points (8-of-14), eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists.

Starting all but two games this season, the Richmond, Va. native, leads the Lady Hornets in rebounding (7.5 rpg), total blocks (39) and double-digit rebounding games (7), while sitting second in scoring (11.1 ppg) and fourth total steals (25).
