Snow could top half a foot, says new Winter Weather Advisory, share your photos

Here's a forecast of the additional snow from 9 am to 11 pm Tuesday, Feb. 9.

The National Weather Service office at White Lake at 8:49 a.m. Tuesday issued its new Winter Weather Advisory, calling for another 1-3 inches of snow Tuesday, on top of several inches that fell overnight. The advisory is until 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Bands of show showers were expected to continue coming off Lake Huron and sweeping southwestward, the Weather Service said.

Monday, the Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Thumb region, calling for snow of 7 inches or more.

Schools across the Thumb were closed Tuesday, as were schools in southern Genesee County and in Lapeer.

The snow has caused numerous traffic crashes across the region, at times closing I-69 in Genesee County.
