The clip posted to the Facebook founder and CEO’s official page is entirely in Mandarin, and shows Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan wishing everyone a happy Chinese New Year.
Dressed in his infamous grey t-shirt, which was the star of its own Facebook post last month, Zuckerberg addresses the camera with his daughter sat between him and his wife.
Happy Lunar New Year from Priscilla, Max and me! In the Year of the Monkey, I hope you and all your loved ones find happiness, health and good fortune.

Luckily the video comes with English subtitles, meaning we can understand Zuckerberg when he states that he is excited to be celebrating his first “Lunar New Year with Max.”
The 31-year-old billionaire goes on to reel off a plug for the social network’s in-house celebration marking the beginning of the Year of the Monkey in the Chinese calendar.
Priscilla states that the Zuckerbergs also had a family reunion dinner at home to mark the special occasion. All the while, baby Max remains surprisingly well behaved and generally disinterested in the proceedings.
Most notably, Zuckerberg reveals that Max has now been given a Chinese name; Chen Mingyu. Explaining the name’s meaning, he states: “Chen after her mother’s family name … and Mingyu represents our hope for a brighter tomorrow for the world.”
The camera then cuts to a shot of Zuckerberg wishing his daughter a “Happy New Year” as she stares back at him, and at us. The clip ends with the Facebook CEO jokingly asking his daughter whether she thinks his Chinese is bad.
The video is the latest Facebook post depicting a more light-hearted and affectionate side to the entrepreneur. It marks a stark contrast to the external depictions of Zuckerberg as cold and calculating in other media, including David Fincher’s hit film The Social Network — and the book upon which it was based, Ben Mezrich’s The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of
Zuckerberg first revealed the birth of his daughter Max (full name, Maxima Chan Zuckerberg) to the world in an open letter on Facebook, published shortly after her birth.
