Art exhibition, sale showcases American West

The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum's 12th annual Panhandle-Plains Invitational Western Art Show and Sale will go on display this week.

The exhibition, which will hang in the museum's Foran Gallery, will include about 150 pieces of art depicting the American West.

More than 50 artists from across the U.S. were chosen to submit works for the collection.

A reception and sale, set at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, opens the exhibition. Unsold art will be available for sale through March 26, when the exhibition closes.

The PPHM, 2503 Fourth Ave. in Canyon, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens ages 65 and older and $5 for children ages 4 to 12.
