- AldonaAugust 9, 2016Free English tours at the East Gate at 1pm! Our guide was a lovely Japanese grandma who told us more about Japanese castles and palaces than we'd learned during the whole 3-week trip around Japan. <3Upvoted Feb 18
- Eric EspirituJuly 1, 2017If you're heading here and coming from the closest station, turn left towards the fountain, instead of right. The entrance is closer this way.Upvoted Feb 24
- Doug ByrneDecember 14, 2017The restored palace is nice, but be sure to go see the exhibit in the castle tower to see it with some furniture. It's kind of strange missing that context.
- Cheen The CuriousMarch 31, 2023Lucky to have visited the castle during sakura season. The grounds & surroundings were a dreamy shade of pink. Lots of people, locals & tourists, out & about enjoying the blooms
- Fernando LemosSeptember 20, 2017Nice castle to visit. Reasonable fee to enter, there is a museum inside. Good view from the top floor.
- John LarkApril 6, 2017There are local volunteers who provide free guidance in English. This is no scam and improves your appreciation of the castle and its history
- K BJuly 8, 2018The castle is currently closed for reconstruction. You can view the outside or visit the lovely Honmaru palace within the castle grounds
- Michael GreenbergDecember 28, 2018English-speaking volunteer guides are available to show you around. Friendly and knowledgeable- a real treasure!
- Jenna TenpennySeptember 6, 2016Nagoya Castle is beautiful - a remnant of the great Japanese architecture that once filled the city.
- SandeepNovember 23, 2014Looks great from afar but boring within unless you are really into the history of it. Better off getting a room with a view at the Westin and enjoying it.
- K BJuly 8, 2018There are guys who dress up as ninjas or samurai giving small performances on the castle grounds
- Kristoff De WildeOctober 7, 2013They are rebuilding the palace at the castle grounds, it's not finished yet, but you can already go in to have a look, really recommended
- Cheen The CuriousMarch 31, 2023At this angle next to the sign, the grand castle looks like a miniature version 😊
- Vincent TanNovember 28, 2019Some beautiful bits in autumn but a lot of places are off limits because of renovation
- Joshefo JacquesOctober 25, 2016Te gift shop at the entrance is better than the one that's inside the castle.
- Joachim OoiNovember 17, 2019It’s under renovation, so you can’t go in. There is another house that you could go in but you can only go in after watching a video.
- Eileen E.October 6, 2011A most! You can take the elevator or the stairs! The view on the last floor is amazing!!
- Viola RosaiDecember 30, 2015Majestic! Do you know the golden animals on the roof top are supposed to be dolphins?! Lol
- Pao ManzoDecember 16, 2013The third floor has a nice golden dolphin where you can take nice pictures.
- Nicholas LimDecember 2, 2017Cultural. Nice place to visit. 500 yen for adult foreigners as entrance fee. They do provide services to explain about the details through the whole visit in English. Beautiful gardens too.
- Jinyoung HongApril 15, 2017
