Dog’s Favorite Human Left For College, But He Still Waits For Her

Doggone it, why are we crying?

This pup’s love is fur real.

A picture of a college student’s dog loyally waiting for her to get off her school bus — although she left for college four months ago — has gone viral.

Bo misses Carly.

Carly Dunn, an 18-year-old who started school at Georgia State University in August, tweeted a screen shot of a text her dad sent her of her dog, Bo, waiting for her on Nov. 29. Since then it has received more than 56,000 likes and 22,000 re-tweets:

Naturally, this made people on Twitter collectively whimper:

Dunn told The Huffington Post that her family got Bo, who is a border collie mix, when he was a puppy at the end of her sophomore year of high school. The two of them solidified their bond over the summers, when Dunn was at home all day and her parents were at work.

So warm and fuzzy.

“He’s so cute, like any time I leave the house, he gets so sad,” Dunn told HuffPost. “And when I walk upstairs to go to my room he looks at me like I’m giving him for adoption and watches me walk all the way into my room. My parents said that after I go in my room he runs over to them and gets depressed.”

Bo got so attached to Dunn that when she would go back to school, he quickly learned to associate the loud sound of the school bus with Dunn coming home. Whenever he heard the bus, he’d run to the window, wait for her to get off and then greet her at the door.

“He’s a character,” Dunn says. “He’s also extremely smart, we never trained him but ever since he was a puppy he would run over and stand at the front door whenever he had to go outside.”

Dunn also plans to see her furry friend real soon. After her finals are over on Dec. 8, she’s heading home for some TLC-time with Bo.

“I’m planning on recording it,” she told HuffPost.

And her plans?

“I’ll probably take him to the dog park or go for a ride because those are his two favorite things in the world,” she said.

Aw, good boy!
