Visual Artists  

Clowes Family Foundation
Supports exceptional BIPOC artists living in Massachusetts, Vermont New Hampshire, Maine or Indianapolis.

Dohrn Zachai
Supports female visual artists aged 65 and older.

Emily Mason & Wolf Kahn Fellowship 
Supports exceptional visual artists based on the merit of the work.

Harpo Foundation Native American Fellowship
Supports exceptional US based Native American visual artists. This award includes a $500 travel stipend.

Jon Imber Painting Fellowship
This fellowship honors the memory and work of VSC friend and Visiting Artist, Jon Imber and supports painters in residence.

Les Palettes du Kamer Fellowship
This fellowship supports two Cameronian artists.

Marshall Frankel Fellowship 
Supports a mixed media visual artist with an emphasis on video in their work for a two-week residency.  Preference is giving to female artists of color.

Marshall and Margherite McComb Foundation Displaced Artists Fellowship
Supports displaced artists. By invitation only.

Pollock-Krasner Fellowship 
Supports visual artists with exceptional talent from the United States.

Queen’s College CUNY Fellowship 
Supports visual artists that attend Queen’s College CUNY in a 3-week residency and includes a $1000 stipend. By invitation only.

VSC Full and Partial Fellowships  
Designated for exceptional visual artists, based on the merit of their work.

Windgate Charitable Foundation Fellowship  
Supports visual artists working in traditional craft media with financial need.

Writers

Civil Society Institute Fellowship
Supports a US writer of color with demonstrable financial need. The award includes a $500 travel stipend and application fee reimbursement.

Dartmouth Fellowship
This partnership with the Dartmouth College Department of English and Creative Writing offers two fully funded residencies for Dartmouth College students. The award includes a stipend for travel.

Harpo Foundation Native American Fellowship
Supports exceptional US based Native American writers. This award includes a $500 travel stipend.

Helen Zell Writers’ Program Fellowship
Supports one writer currently enrolled in the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program for a four-week residency, June 30 to July 25, 2024.

International Writers Program Fellowship
In partnership with the International Writers Program at the University of Iowa, one IWP resident each year is awarded a residency. 

James Merrill Poetry Fellowship
Supports American poets with demonstrable need. Made possible with support from the Hellen Plummer Charitable Foundation.

Poets & Writers Fellowship
Recent participants in Poets & Writers’ publicity incubator, Get the Word Out (GTWO), are invited to apply for a fully funded 3-week residency at Vermont Studio Center (VSC). The fellowship will be available to fiction writers and poets in alternate years. The 2024 Poets & Writers Fellowship will be offered to a fiction writer.

Susanna Colloredo Fellowship
Established in honor of Susanna Colloredo for a writer whose creative work directly engages environmental issues, awareness, and the planet's complex challenges. This is a fellowship for a writer whose creative work directly engages environmental issues.

TRP’s X. J. Kennedy Poetry Prize Fellowship
Supports a three-week residency, in the summer, to a recipient of TRP’s X. J. Kennedy Poetry Prize. Established in 1998, The X. J. Kennedy Poetry Prize highlights one full-length collection of poetry per year with a $10,000 advance and publication.

Voices Rising Fellowship  
Supports Black American woman fiction writers with demonstrable financial need. Given in honor of women writers of color such as Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, and Zora Neale Hurston, whose voices have inspired so many. Each award includes a $2,000 stipend

VSC Full and Partial Fellowships  
Designated for exceptional writers, based on the merit of their work.
