J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar Drop 'Black Friday' Freestyles

Music Matters artists swap tracks for the hangover holiday.

We're one step closer to that J. Cole x Kendrick Lamar album.

The two Music Matters rappers dropped freestyles today in recognition of Black Friday (the day when we're feeling so grateful we run out to go shopping for our loved ones), and to make it most bromantic, they chose each other's tracks as backdrops.

"They can't handle two Black n***gas this clever," Cole spits over Kendrick's "Alright" (off To Pimp A Butterfly). "I'm in the White House going all out, bumping College Dropout, God bless Americans/ Nothing more influential than Rap music/ I merge Jazz Fusion with the Trap Music/ I mix Black Soul with some Rock-n-Roll/ They never box me in, I'm David Blainein' all you h*es," K Dot declares over "A Tale of 2 Citiez" (2014 Forest Hills Drive).

Though it was likely not more than a moment of Thanksgiving cheer, last we heard of the collaborative LP they first began teasing a few years ago, "that ideal project may be a little bit more realistic," Kendrick said in December.

Here's to checking that off the Christmas Wish List soon.
