FC Barcelona v AS Roma - UEFA Champions LeagueRoma coach Rudi Garcia and director Walter Sabatini allegedly had a heated discussion following the 6-1 thrashing against Barcelona.

The Italian side failed to secure a place into the knockout stage after Bayer Leverkusen shared the spoils with BATE Borisov in a 2-2 draw.

According to Mediaset Premium, the altercation took place as Roma were waiting for Edin Dzeko to complete his doping test before heading to the airport.

The alleged argument was reported to have started after Garcia announced that he was not concerned by the defeat.

The romping suffered at the Camp Nou left the Giallorossi second in Group E with good chance to qualify provided they win their last match at home against BATE.

Despite the rumours, the sporting director said that the defeat will not compromise Roma’s self-esteem.

“I wouldn’t say it is a humiliating defeat, it’s a bad result which hurt the players, the coach, the club and especially our supporters,” Sabatini told Sky Sport.

“Garcia is the same coach as he was in the first year. He went through some difficult moments but he is ok now.

“He works 10 hours every day and we are very happy with his work, we will stick with Garcia for many years.”
