New Dogpatch Development Near Esprit Park Takes Shape

A brand-new, 112-unit building at 888 Tennessee St. fronting Esprit Park is beginning to take shape with new renderings from David Baker Architects. The new development will transform what is now an industrial property at the edge of the 20th Street ramp into a new community with a central courtyard, 3,000 feet of commercial space, and easy access to nearby transportation options.

The design itself appears simple and boxy so far, with no balconies or complicated elements. According to David Baker Architects, the design was meant to respect the area's industrial character with distinctive window patterns and "warm earth-tone colors based on local clays." Landscape architect Fletcher Studio has joined for the outdoor design, while the S. Hekemian Group is the developer behind the project.
