WILLOUGHBY, OH – A Willoughby home took the brunt of the fall when a large crane that was removing a log from the neighboring lot toppled over onto the home.

A tree cutting company was trying to load a large log onto the crane late Thursday afternoon when the crane’s balance was upset. The crane smashed into the front wall of the house next door to the one where the tree was being removed from.

As it fell, the crane took out the power lines for the home as well. The power company was able to restore power and the Willoughby building department inspected the home and found that there was no risk of it collapsing.

The crane was eventually towed away. The only injury in this whole episode came to the operator of the crane, who hurt his foot as he jumped from the tipping equipment.
