A woman threatening to jump from the Golden Nugget parking garage was taken into custody this evening, according to Metro Police.

Police were called about 1:50 p.m. to the garage of the hotel, at 129 E. Fremont Street, where a female of unknown age was threatening to jump, Officer Michael Rodriguez said.

Negotiators were notified, and SWAT units were called to the scene, police said.

She was taken into custody by SWAT about 6:10 p.m. and transferred to University Medical Center to receive treatment for injuries related to a K-9 bite, police said.

She is facing charges in connection with another incident, police said.

Multiple road closures in the area near the garage were in effect downtown as police tried to talk her down, Rodriguez said.
