Pwllheli man Robin Evans dies in work accident in China

A man from north Wales has died in an accident while working in China.

Robin Llyr Evans, 21, who works for sport technology firm Hawk-Eye, was preparing for a tennis tournament in Wuhan when the incident happened.

The Foreign Office confirmed the death of a British national in Wuhan and said it was in contact with the Chinese authorities and the man's employer who were supporting the family.

Pwllheli RFC, where Mr Evans was a former player, paid tribute to him.

On its Twitter account the club wrote: "The club are devastated to hear that 21-year-old ex Youth Captain Robin Llyr Evans has died in an accident while working in China.

"Our truly sincere condolences are extended to Robin Evans' family and friends following the tragic accident which took his life.

"The sad loss of such a bright, pleasant and talented young man has shocked the community who have been told of Robin's death yesterday."
