Got a scoop request? An anonymous tip you’re dying to share? Send any/all of the above to askausiello@tvline.com
Question: Can we expect a major “Steroline” kiss in the Vampire Diaries season premiere? I need it. – Kayla
Ausiello: You might want to sit down for this one, Kayla: Paul Wesley couldn’t quite recall what goes down in the premiere — they’re a few episodes into Season 7 right now — but when we asked him about Stefan’s kissing agenda with Caroline, he did drop this bombshell: “I’ll be lip-locking with more than one woman.”
Question: Any scoop about Castle? —Fred
Ausiello: Not just any scoop, exclusive scoop! Actress/comedienne Stephnie Weir (The Comedians, MADtv) has signed on to guest-star in Episode 5, titled “The Nose,” as Mia Laszlo, a real character who begrudgingly helps Castle and Beckett via her unique ability to sniff out the mastermind behind a multi-million dollar heist.
Question: Supernatural scoop, please! —Shirin
Ausiello: Remember how executive producer Jeremy Carver teased at Comic-Con that some fan favorite characters will return in Season 11 (premiering Oct. 7), and in surprising ways? It sounds like their reappearance could be tied to the new Big Bad. “As responsible as the boys feel for having released The Darkness and how much they personally want to defeat it, they’re not going to be able to do it alone,” the EP tells TVLine. “They’re going to have to confront some figures from their past. They’re going to have to make some unexpected and unholy alliances involving folks from their past, which will have personal ramifications, as well. Because these are some pretty significant figures from their past.”
Question: Anything you can give us about Booth and Brennan’s new baby on Bones? Please? —Debora
Ausiello: It’s a boy. He will already be several months old when the new season starts. And his name… will have meaning. Also, don’t expect Bones to morph into Parenthood now that Booth and Brennan have two kids together. “It’s not the baby show, it’s the Bones show,” exec producer Michael Peterson tells TVLine. “We’re trying to find the perfect balance, where we show the kids and [establish that] Booth and Brennan are great parents [without] making it solely about the children.”
Question: Any word if Booth’s son Parker will make another appearance this season? —Phoebe
Ausiello: As a matter of fact, yes! “We definitely will be seeing him,” Peterson reveals of Booth’s MIA kid from another mother. “We’re working on a storyline right now that will have him return.”
Question: Are we going to see any more of Emily (Laura Spencer) in Season 9 of The Big Bang Theory? —Andrew
Ausiello: You’re going to see quite a bit of her now that Raj has professed his (faux) love to her. “I think he knows in his heart that this might not be the right person for him, but, for a sensitive and insecure guy like him, the thought of choosing to break up with someone and then be alone is difficult,” explains exec producer Steve Molaro. “That’s something he will be wrestling with further in Season 9.”
Question: Will Ziva ever come back to NCIS? —Janet
Ausiello: Isn’t that forever the million-dollar question? And while we (obviously) have no news on that particular front, Michael Weatherly — he plays Ziva’s former colleague, Tony — did tease some very special guests to come. “I have come to understand that there will be, later in the year, some guest stars that will melt the avid NCIS viewer’s brain,” he shared. (Presented with and amused by Weatherly’s provocative sell, show boss Gary Glasberg would only confirm, “We’ve got some really fine guest spots that aren’t locked in yet.”)
Question: I have a query regarding NCIS: LA. Do you know if we’ll see Nell and Eric getting together this season? –Brittany
Ausiello: In Season 7 (premiering Sept. 21), “We certainly see more of that relationship,” showrunner Shane Brennan told Matt Mitovich as part of our Fall Preview Q&A. “It’s obviously not as developed as Kensi and Deeks’ relationship, but there’s definitely more fun to be had there.” Especially when one of the techies tackles a new skill. “Sam is going to give Eric weapons training,” Brennan shared with a chuckle. “For those who have watched from the beginning, you realize this is fraught with danger — for everyone!”
Question: What’s this past history between Sleepy Hollow’s Abbie and Lance Gross’ character, Daniel? —Regina
Ausiello: Abbie and Daniel “had a very special relationship when they met,” new showrunner Clifton Campbell tells TVLine, “and it’s going to be kind of challenging to suddenly be somebody’s boss when you started out being very, very close friends.” Whether that closeness continues into Season 3 creates a “challenge” for the feds, he adds. “You want all the good of that close, trusting, intimate relationship without the messiness of it going too far, and that’s proven in the first handful of episodes so far this season to be interesting to watch.”
Question: I’ll take any heroic/villainy scoops for Flash and Supergirl, please! —Mason
Ausiello: The brute to the right is headed to one of those shows later this fall, but which one?! First Aushole to hit the comments with this beast’s name and the correct show wins bragging rights to having too much time on their hands on the Friday before Labor Day!!
Question: Will Cary finally catch a break on The Good Wife? —David
Ausiello: Yes, he’ll finally catch a break in Season 7 — and that in itself will cause him angst. “Throughout his six years on the show, he has always been the person struggling the most to maintain his career,” notes exec producer Robert King. “Now he’s in the most secure position ever. He’s a partner at Chicago’s third-largest firm. And he’s only 34. He’s the youngest person in the room almost by a decade or two, and that creates a very big strain for him because A) he’s not used to not struggling and B) he finds himself drawn to the [younger] associates. He’s caught between the people over him and beneath him. That creates a great, interesting comic strain for Matt Czuchry.”
Question: Any Brooklyn Nine-Nine spoilers for Jake and Amy shippers? –Lindsey
Ausiello: Sounds like a question for co-showrunner Dan Goor. “Our philosophy all along has been to try to deal with this [relationship] as realistically as possible,” he tells TVLine. “These are two people who clearly have a chemistry together and clearly like each other, but are both highly competitive and who work together. We’re picking up right where they left off — where they kissed — and they have to first figure out what that means and what they want to do going forward, given the constraints of working together, in a fishbowl.”
Question: Despite Mistresses leaving Joss in peril at the end of the Season 3 finale, I’m going to assume she lives. My question is whether or not she and Harry will find their bliss in Season 4. —Elijah
Ausiello: That’s a bold assumption about the ABC sudser’s renewal chances (and what Wilson does with his gun), Elijah. But since I like your optimism, let me offer you some scoop you’re sure to like, straight from showrunner Rina Mimoun: “We’re tired of keeping Joss and Harry apart, and we want to see what their relationship looks like.” But while Mimoun and partner-in-crime K.J. Steinberg say they don’t foresee an outside love interest mucking up the former in-laws’ affair, Harry’s new deal for a Food Network travel series with celeb chef Rocco DiSpirito could be the fly in the couple’s soup-for-two. “The reality show aspect will give Harry a chance to have a real evolution from someone who doesn’t understand this invasion [of privacy] to someone who either embraces it or implodes because of it,” says Steinberg. “Instead of putting a woman in the way of Harry and Joss, we could explore what happens if the public eye gets in the way.”
This AAnd That…
♦ Now I’m really worried that a certain Walking Dead vet’s days may be numbered. The show is quietly casting a Season 6 role that sounds a lot like Negan, the comic book character who ends up killing [Spoiler]. The breakdown describes “Rich” as a fiftysomething narcissist who has an angry streak, a “Senator-like charm” and the charisma of a car salesman. Totally Negan, right?
♦ An early Season 2 episode of How to Get Away With Murder will feature a transgender character as (presumably) a client of Annalise’s.
♦ Scoop! The exclusive kind! Mom‘s Melissa Tang — recently cast on The Big Bang Theory as Leonard’s infamous North Sea “mistress” — has booked an arc on Beauty and the Beast. She’ll play a cable news personality in a pair of Season 4 episodes.
♦ I bear good news for Once Upon a Time fans hoping that the introduction of Merida (played by Amy Manson) means we’ll at some point meet her royal ‘rents. This season’s ninth episode will introduce Queen Elinor and King Fergus.
That’s a wrap! Please send questions, comments and anonymous tips to askausiello@tvline.com. (Additional reporting by Rebecca Iannucci, Kim Roots and Michael Slezak)
Non for Supergirl!
CONGRATS! YOU ‘WIN’! –MA
Umm WTF team, the URL is a dead giveaway of who the Walking Dead vet is that might be killed off… Kind of disappointed here.
Pretty good idea… Is to not click on and read and article on spoilers of shows you probably watch. It will save you all the disappointment.
DarkDefender: The spoiler is no where in the article. Only the URL. That’s the issue. Often just hovering your mouse over a linked article will show that info even if you are trying not to click on it.
So agree re spoilers. People who don’t want to know should just not be here. It is common sense.
Jeri..the problem is the URL gives the spoiler, not the article. You can avoid parts of the article, but not the way it appears in your address bar. This is AA, everyone wants to read it and knows you can skip the questions you don’t want to spoil except when it is plainly written in the URL!!
Their URLs always do that! You think they would get on that.
It’s an SEO thing. That’s not gonna change.
Forever hoping Kirkman might pull a zig instead of the zag and let the character live on TV. Seeing it in comic was gut wrenching enough. On TV it’s gonna do worse.
It’s Gregory not Negan although he is not far behind.
Any chance Stockard Channing would return to ‘The Good Wife?’
YASSSS! Stefan kissing other women besides Caroline!!!!!!! LOVE IT!! I can only hope Julie Plec finds someone that Stefan has REAL chemistry with!!!
Thank you Paul! Maybe I will turn into TVD this fall!
Finally a pic only with Stefan! Thank you to whoever only showed Stefan…not everyone likes his sidekick and hopefully he really does get to kiss other girls and this isn’t a stupid spoiler that won’t go anywhere.
I agree! This is the first picture of Stefan by himself that I’ve seen for awhile so a BIG thank you for that! Here’s to more pictures/screen time/storlines with Stefan without steropuke.
Well.. As someone that adores Stefan & Caroline together, I feel your celebration might be premature. Pretty sure it will be in a flashback.. There was going to be a “blast from Stefan’s past” anyway.. Stefan said he’ll wait for Caroline & I’m sure he will.. Just saying…
That’s great about Stefan but where are Bamon spoilers??
I’m here for Bamon too. Those two things Bamon and Stefan finding a girl who he has chemistry with. Why does Stefan have to suffer while Bamon is hottttt?!
Definitely more interested in Bamon spoilers too. I wish the writers would stop ignoring that possibility.
Yes where are my BAMON spoilers? Out of all these relationships that they’ve thrown at us over the years why is it that they won’t even try it with these two. Two of the most dynamic characters that would set our tvs on fire. smh
Non, on Supergirl, I think. (At work, pretending to work …)
yay, less Parenthood on Bones and more Parker, after all they do have THREE children and please get Booth out of the kitchen.
Why would adding yet another child make it less parenthood? LOL
Please don’t name the new baby boy Lance!!
I hope its not Lance either it will probably be Hank after Booth’s pops. Bones has never been Parenthood. Until last year Christine was hardly shown and Parker only pops up once every three or four years
That’s Non, another Superman character…
Oh man, The Darkness on Supernatural sounds like it could be a carbon copy of The First Evil from Buffy. That’s so incredibly disappointing and lame, but that would also describe the show as a whole since Eric Kripke left so it’s not too surprising.
Supernatural has been pretty good post-Kripke. Seasons 7 an 10 are highlights. I do agree that the Darkness sounds like the First, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
That character is Non
Yikes! Maybe Lucifer will be back? Allistair? Maybe some really ticked off angels? Zachariah? Rafael?
Cannot wait for October!!!
Ugh, no. No more angels. Castiel is more than plenty.
Gabriel is the only one that should come back, as he’s always fun. It’s almost a given Lucifer and Chuck will be back, from what they’ve been saying.
What happened to “Mistresses” last night? I thought there was one more episode but we got stupid NFL Football! Is there another one or was last week’s the season finale? They showed previews at the end last week and I thought they were for a show last night. Any info on this?
I read it was due to local affiliates choosing to have football on. I had it here too-dallas v. Houston on two channels at the same time!! Going to try and find the episode on on-demand tomorrow.
We had that situation in Boston when the CBS station showed Pats/Giants vs the regular show but fortunately they have a sister(?) station showing it so there was no blackout.
Many affiliates aired football last night over Mistresses (and preempted shows on other networks as well). This week was the Mistresses finale. It should be on demand now or on abc’s website to watch.
Here in Phoenix it’s being shown at 3pm on Sunday afternoon
Thank you! That’s where I am – but didn’t know that! WOO HOO!
The Darkness sounds like Buffy’s First Evil, so I wonder if it will take the form of dead characters.
I’m with you – that sounds like Negan. That’s interesting/exciting in that he’s a very entertaining character, but scary in what you were hinting at possibly coming to pass. I’m even more afraid that, as much as I love the original character this happened to, I’m scared the show may switch the death and it will somehow end up far worse (Butterfly Effect style).
…but who will play Lucille?
Agreed. _________ may not be the one who dies. They’ve changed up many significant deaths between the comic and the show so far; it could be anyone.
No way. That casting is for episode 11. It’s for Gregory. That was just to create hype.
Are we going to get actual spoilers about TVD that makes us want to see SEASON 7 because as of now, nothing I’m hearing makes me even want to dvr it much less Watch it. I’m not here for chemistryless SC and I’ve yet to hear anything about the big bads that are interesting. Nothing on Damon or Bonnie. So what is the season about. SC drama? I thought we had that in season 5 with DE and the outcome the worst season ever.
No individual story etc. okay. Probably got Caroline Dries in charge again even after the mess of season 5 that she created.
well said, so far everything has been SC SC SC :/ besides, knowing Paul, surely he is talking about a kiss on the cheek with Lily.
Here, here! I’m sick of the chem free duo and want to hear about the pairing that actually do have chemistry, BAMON. I don’t think I’m asking too much to hear something\anything about Bamon.
Great, even more characters no one cares about on OUAT.
Just… shut up. A show needs more and more characters. That’s called “guest starring”.
So we all know who doesn’t actually watch OUAT.
I’m guessing one of the un-named (and not locked in) guest stars is going to be Scottie Thompson who played Jeanne Benoit. With Gibbs’ medical issues seeing her in a hospital setting wouldn’t be out of the ordinary.
I hope you’re right!
I like Jeanne as well. I don’t need Tony to be with a woman, any woman, because it sounds like he’ll have plenty of other things to do this season. However, I would like Jeanne to return to find out that Tony acted as he did last time because he did care for her. I’d like them to be friends (or at least friendly to each other), and have Jeanne no longer hate Tony.
I’d be okay with that :)
That would be awesome, and the Tony connection would explain Weatherly’s enthusiasm.
I hope you’re right.
MW and ST had such a great chemistry. Jeanne’s the only woman Tony really fell in love with and her return would give authors the chance to write and some meaty, strong, complicated and amazing scripts. Michael and Scottie’s talent would do the rest.
Jeanne’s return would certainly bring the ‘twists and turns’ in Tony’s life that GG talked about in his last interview.
Shouldn’t it be helping castle and Alexis😉
Exactly–I thought the same thing. Looks like by episode 5 they’re back to Beckett and Castle working together–guessing here.
Maybe!
Lol then next few episodes back to castle and Alexis
Yes, more Cary Agos is good. I like what I just read. Office flirting is fun, plus he is a lawyer that supposedly knows all about sexual harassment so I hope they won’t go that way. He was ruined by Kalinda since they started going at it together. He deserved so much better.
In reading the scoop, when they say “drawn” to youunger associates I think they were more referring to the fact that he is acting younger than his role in the firm. So I’m sure that includes office flirting, but I think that scoop says a lot more.
Agree. Love Cary. Just saw him in some oid Gilmore Girls reruns.
Sleepy Hollow, that sends anything but interesting to watch. I’m all for Abbie having her own stuff going on, but this show feels like it’s ENTIRELY changed. I know this new guy isn’t the one that ruined it, but it doesn’t sound like he can save it based on all the soapiness I’m getting from the very tiny spoilers we received. These kind of spoilers will NOT bring in new viewers or regain old ones; perhaps let something slip about the new evil that’s lurking–THAT’S why most people watch Sleepy Hollow. And for Abbie and Ichabod’s chemistry–no that’s not from a ‘shipping’ standpoint, but they’re are great in any context. I do ship it, but I don’t need it to happen just yet, either.
*SOUNDS, not sends. My bad :)
I’m already bored with everything I’ve hears. FOX is putting it up against Scandal so they are hoping to steal viewers who watch that type of show by imputing stereotypical drama into Sleepy Hollow. If they do that, then I will stop watching. They will lose all viewers because that is NOT the reason I watch Sleepy Hollow. They really have no clue.
Robert Vuaghn to NCIS? Please? Finally??
YESSSSSSS!!!
I’d love a Vaughn visit to NCIS!
If Mistresses renewed they need to bring Motive back too as it out rated Mistresses. Canada has already renewed it for another season so maybe they could use it during season when others on hiatus. Poor decision not to bring it back this summer but hey its Mr. Lee
I HOPE Ziva comes back to NCIS…….That’s the only way i’ll watch the show again if she has like a 2-3 episode arc!
*Not surprised about Glenn on TWD I like the character but I think he might get the axe.
Given the “ripped from the headlines” aspect of the show and all the violence in the MidEast, investigating her death could be an interesting possibility.
Ziva, Ziva, David-a…That’s all you NCIS viewers think about. The Show doesn’t “singularly” evolve around Ziva just as it goes with Gibbs. It just happens they steal the spotlight time to time from the story of that episode.
*BTW, wishing won’t bring Ziva back and she won’t return until…it feels right for HER and it also feels right for ZIVA to return. My opinion…”For the quality of the show vs. The want of the fans.” Sometimes the fans get it wrong (even as many times as the show runners and networks.)
* An extra bonus I think for the fans would be to see a dymanic between to female agents on a regular basics…(*HINT*) Ziva returning and keeping Bishop. Ex. episode – Have a little in office betting pool – Boys (Mcgee, Tony) vs. girls (Bishop, Ziva). Just my opinon but it sounds like a fun idea to lighten the mood at a dark crime scene.
unfortunately such an idea is only a pipe dream
NCIS gets rid of the female team members regularly. Only Abbe has lasted the entire show. I lost interest after Ziva as she was at least the 3rd woman they did away with. No use investing time in characters they will replace with younger women after 2 -4 yrs (or so).
They say the women leave willingly but I feel the renewal contracts are so low-balled they have no choice but to depart with some dignity. Just my opinion.
Sasha Alexander left because she couldn’t take the 15hr/ 6-7 days a week work schedule. Lauren Holly wanted to move back with her family. And of course Cote de Pablo is the only one being thrown around with the money issue. But after 8 years, not having a whole lot of “free” time, it’s not unreasonable to think the issue was family & other interests.
Never say Never! 😀
LOL so we really know nothing on what to make of this Daniel/Abbie thing. This is much more vague than EW was … but then again, what’s new? Sleepy Hollow’s people haven’t exactly given a picture (not filled with spoilers) of what to anticipate for the upcoming season. Self-sabotage, if you ask me.
On Twitter the writers of Sleepy Hollow said unequivocally that the stuff about Abbie being with Daniel 4 years ago at Quantico from EW was INCORRECT. Whether that means EW got it wrong or they realized their mistake and fixed it, who knows.
Oh, really? That’s good news, ’cause yeah, I was wondering how exactly they’d explain the “four years” thing. I’d personally figured it had to be a mistake of some sort.
Finally seeing Harm or Mac maybe on NCIS would be interesting.
I would actually watch NCIS if that happened.
it will never happen… Show did have AJ on a few years ago but Tony didn’t remember him much nor did Ducky who were on the Pilot episode that was on JAG.. During the episode I was waiting for Tony to ask AJ how that guy we tried to hang a murder charge on???
Without a doubt, a ziva guest appearance will be thrilling for the normal, non-fanatical fans who enjoyed the character.
For those who are done with the drama of ziva (& her portrayer), I see many skipping the ep she appears in.
For the minority who have been fanatically present on social media since the actress quit, any guest appearance by cdp will unleash a new wave of nasty on the show, the cast, the writers & GG that hasn’t been seen of yet.
Cote quit 2 years ago. She only spoke of a possible guest appearance when she was promoting Dovekeepers. The whole topic just needs to die & something else needs to be found to be used as click bait.
yeah the social media psychos are the worst.
The lack of Alexis and Hayley in this spoiler makes this the first episode of Castle season 8 that I’m actually excited to see. The only thing that could make it better is if Ryan and Espo were mentioned as part of the investigative team.
One I saw in 2 parter has Alexis as Castle PI partner. Beckett is missing ? & Castle, Ryan & Espo find Toks in apt. Just have to watch & see,
Saw that. Beckett is missing and Castle is trying to find her. Part 1( Episode 1 XY?) is from his perspective, part 2, (episode XX?) from hers (or vice versa). And, I think, Bracken shows up again (ugh) in one of these two (XY?). And Toks is behind the curtain in the apt and clocks Castle. You can see my info is kinda shaky.
I totally agree. This is the first spoiler all summer that talks about Castle and Beckett. I have no desire to see Alexis PI or Castle PI. Or even wasting my precious screen time for Castle and Beckett with a useless new character named Hayley.
“He’s the youngest person in the room almost by a decade or two, and that creates a very big strain for him because A) he’s not used to not struggling and B) he finds himself drawn to the [younger] associates.”
And C) I don’t see how that can translate into a good storyline for the character or the actor. And what about Cary struggling (professionally and emotionally) with what happened to him last season? Will he suddenly act like nothing never happened to him and Kalinda never existed?
Thanks for telling me something about the next season of The Good Wife that does not revolve around a character named Alicia!
