JERSEY CITY -- The season of summer festivals may be coming to a close, but not before a little taste of the Mediterranean makes its way into Jersey City again.

Evangelismos Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church is hosting its annual Jersey City Greek Festival on Sept. 12 and 13 to celebrate the church's 80th anniversary.

"Dancing in the aisles is definitely permitted" at the Greek festival, which will run from noon to midnight on Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

"Pete the Greek," owner of Teddy's Place in Bayonne, will provide entertainment. On Saturday night, the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Youth Dancers from Perth Amboy will put on a show in authentic Greek costume.

Favorite natives dishes, including moussaka and baklava, and Greek wine and beer will be sold.

Evangelisrnos Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church is located at 661 Montgomery St. near Saint Peter's University. All proceeds will benefit the church's restoration.
