Blessing of the Badges tonight.

LUDINGTON — Mason County’s 2015 Blessing of the Badges Ceremony will be held tonight, July 31, 2015, in conjunction with the last Friday Night Live event of 2015, in downtown Ludington.  All public safety personnel (fire, police dispatch, EMS, military) are invited to attend. The blessing ceremony will begin at 8:15 p.m. FNL is from 6 to 9 p.m. 

New this year is “Cops & Robbers 5K race”. The Cops & Robbers 5K is a fundraiser for the Shop with a Cop event in December.  The funds raised will help pay for Christmas gifts for the participants.  The Cops & Robbers 5K race will begin by pursuing the designate “robber” on an undisclosed route.  There will be “witnesses” staged along the way directing the “cops” (participants) where to go.

The race begins at 6:30 p.m. at Ludington Cross Fit at 311 S. Rath Ave. It is being organized by Ludington Fitness Events. Day of registration will be accepted.

Ludington Police Department Officer Tony Kuster will be at FNL with a donations booth near the emergency vehicle displays. Funds may also be sent to Shop with a Cop, Ludington Police Department, 400 S. Harrison St., Ludington, MI 49431.
