79th District Court sentencings

LUDINGTON — The following were sentenced recently in 79th District Court:

– Luciano Michael Maniaci, 18, of 2470 N. Lakeshore Dr., Ludington, was convicted by the court of minor in possession (MIP). He was sentenced to 10 days in jail; 30 days discretionary jail for six months; must attend next session of Victims Impact Panel (VIP); and $285 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

– Laura Ann Gillis, 31, of 407 Nelson, Scottville, pleaded no contest to operating while impaired. She was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit for 21 days served; inpatient treatment; $1,230 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; must attend next session of VIP; no alcohol/drugs; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests. Conviction reportable to SOS. In a separate file, she pleaded no contest July 21 to third-degree retail fraud. She was sentenced to 21 days in jail with credit for 21 days served; inpatient treatment; $368 in fines and costs; 93 days discretionary jail for two years; and subject to random preliminary breath tests (PBTs) and drug tests.

– Jacob Andrew Hernandez, 24, of 1649 N. Victory Corner Rd., Ludington, was found guilty July 21 of second-offense operating while intoxicated. He was sentenced to 32 days in jail with credit for two days served; must report to jail within four months or complete Impact Weekend; $1,660 in fines and costs; outpatient counseling; one year discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; must attend AA twice a week for two years; subject to random PBTs; and must maintain employment. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Kelly Lee Case, 50, of 1026 Boone Ave., Ottuma, Iowa, was found guilty July 21 of aggravated assault. She was sentenced to 60 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; one year discretionary jail for two years; no alcohol/drugs; no contact with victim; subject to random PBTs; $5,504.19 restitution; and $655 in fines and costs. One count of aggravated assault was dismissed.

– Meredith Nicole Lowrey-Lorenson, 39, of 304 First St., Ludington, was found guilty June 29 of driving while license expired and sentenced to $225 in fines and costs and 90 days discretionary jail for one year. Restitution is reserved. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of DWLS and one count of failure to report an accident were dismissed.
