Arsenal Agree To Sign Loan Deal With West Ham

Even though Jenkinson had a great season while on loan, Wenger will still be counting on Bellerin and Debuchy to cover the right side of the defense. According to the Guardian, the 23 year old who is starting to look more and more like the promising player everyone saw in him while making his first appearances for Arsenal, will continue his West Ham adventure for one more year. Jenkinson has agreed to leave the Emirates for 12 more months in which he can continue the 29 game streak hit while performing for the Hammers.

Arsenal could consider ending their deal with Jenkinson earlier than predicted considering his contract is set to expire in 2018. Apparently if things go well, he will stay with Slaven Bilic’s side for good. It would not be a strange choice for Wenger to let Jenkinson go mostly because of the fact that the Frenchman signed two right-backs during the past transfer windows. Now there is Debuchy but that kind of fell apart. Fortunately for Wenger there was Bellerin who will probably take over next year but that will not be enough if the North Londoners plan on fighting for the Premier League. There is also Chambers who is normally a right back and also Gnabry who was used as a defender from time to time. Basically, if Jenkinson does want to stay at the Emirates he would be one of five players able to perform as a right back. Because of that the chances of him leaving for good are going to be pretty high during the current window.
