MIKE HOPKINS - THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE LOAM

bigquotesThis is my version of riding. I know what you guys are expecting and I'll tell you right now. There are no massive hits, or lofty spectacles, but, and this is a big but, there is riding. Don't get me wrong. I, like most of you love, myself a proper jump. But putting a bike through its gears on the ground is the reason I ride. Heaps of speed, corners of every variety, and long and low hits. I mean if you are going to build something, why not make it a direct representaion of how you ride? Incorporate the aspects you love and hopefully others will enjoy it too.

bigquotesIt's taken a little while but it's come to my attention that I've been doing it wrong all these years. Why the hell I've spent countless days building disconnected pieces of trail is beyond me. The whole build, film, abandon, format doesn't exactly justify the effort. Rather than build a ''One and Done'' I put the sweat into something that would see more traffic than my treads alone. So I built this trail, the one in the video, to serve as an addition, to Rossland's ever expanding trail network: it's something that can be ridden by anybody. I get to give back to the community that raised me, all the while you all get a new trail extension. Better for you and more rewarding for me, chalk it up as a Win-Win. The doors to the Loam Factory are ''Open.''

I used to watch all DH movies but lately I just open the ones where I can see a single crown fork!.. More videos like this please.
  • 12 2
 Single crown rules. Absolute Kings.
  • 8 6
that was rad. I always wonder what the same video would look like if you had say, Remi Thirion in it.... I still prefer DH movies - some of the top single crown ones are good but most are shit. Take Hucking and Super Trucking as an example.

 so fired up right now!

Really wish videos would give the music credits, out of respect to the musicians at least.
  • 15 0
I agree, however short term maybe try Shazam? Just an option
  • 8 0
Yep fully agree....disrespectful to musicians but such a ripper/shredding edit and music complements beautifully. Out of respect the song is "Terrified" by the The Rural Alberta Advantage. Lyrics a bit dodgy but I still love it.

Credidts are already been given to musicians the time their track is selected for the video.
  • 2 0
agreed @wobbem .. i find myself searching for songs when the video guys should be giving credits to the musicians. anywho... awesome song!!!

If there is one area that Scott is always crushing it, it's those sweet sweet cable shots. They always give you a perspective of the speed / size of the stunts. Keep killing it buddy

Hey Everyone! Thanks for all the love, stoked to have the opportunity to make these projects a reality. Mr.Secco is one of the hardest working individuals in the industry. Appreciate the support on all fronts! Cheers Mike

Hit play, heard the first few seconds of the song, hit fav. Love me some RAA, and the stellar riding combined with it make this video a win in my book.

Love this quote, build the trail based on your style. But til the jumpers come in and top all your jumps to kickers.

After that I was just expecting a bunch of high speed turns and alot of roost (which there was) but he was BOOSTING those jumps. Good lord!

Rossland is such a sick place with trails everywhere, I'm now stoked to go tick this one of the list!! Milky Way in rossland is probably one of the most flow full natural trails I've ever ridden!
  • 3 0
Milky way is one of the trails I get to pick from for my commute down to work most days. Yep. Rossland is a blessed place to live. Now...to locate this Loam Factory... Thanks Mike!

Actually prefer this to the seminuk
section on unReaL. Don't get me wrong, semanuks riding is amazing, just his section in unreal felt a little "sterile". This video feels more real..

I'm pretty sure WAKI was being sarcastic

There are solo tire marks around Rossland that are in places no one else will/can go. Every time I see one, I think they must be his signature. Because I have not seen them in any video segments from any other pro, and he lives there.
  • 2 1
New durolux looks like sick. Great video.
