Fredrik Lestrup continues to dominate at Lausitzring

Fredrik Lestrup claimed his fifth straight Division 1 ADAC Procar victory in extremely hot conditions at the Lausitzring where temperatures were close to 40 degrees celcius.

The Swede started from pole position but was passed by Kai Jordan on the first lap. Lestrup then dropped even further as the race progressed due to an overheating engine.

But Lestrup was able to climb back up and reclaimed the lead on the penultimate lap, with Heico Hammel finishing second and Milenko Vukovic third.

Division 2 saw Ralf Glatzel claiming his second straight victory. But things were close between the Ford Fiesta duo of Glatzel and Dominique Schaak in the first part of the race.

Glatzel had trouble seeing the lights in the start, meaning a slow getaway. Schaak then tried his hardest to keep up with Glatzel, resulting in worn tyres and Kevin Hilgen Hövel getting closer in third.

Glatzel won the class with Schaak 14 seconds behind in second and Hövel a further 33 seconds behind in third.

Steve Kirsch continues his dominance of Division 3 and won the class in style, a full eight seconds ahead of Bernhard Wagner in second and Dirk Lauth in third.

The ADAC Procar weekend at the Lausitzring continues at 14:30 on Sunday with race two.
