LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the second straight year, IUP women's tennis player Tanya Timko (Cannonsburg, PA/Chartiers-Houston) has been named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Spring Top 10 team, which was released last week.

Initiated in the 1997-98 academic year, the PSAC Top 10 Awards are designed to recognize student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and in athletic competition. The Top 10 Award is given to five males and five females in each athletic season: fall, winter and spring.

Last month, Timko became the first player in IUP women's tennis program history to be named a first team Capital One Academic® All-America. She's also a two-time Academic All-District selection and has been named the PSAC Women's Tennis Champion Scholar in each of the last two springs. She earned her first PSAC Top 10 Award in 2014.

Timko has been the Crimson Hawks' top singles and doubles player each of the past two seasons, earning two consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Athlete of the Year awards. She owns a combined record of 47-20 (.701) this year, with 22 singles victories and 25 doubles wins.

She was named the Atlantic Region Senior Player of the Year by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and owns IUP's three career wins records with 86 singles, 103 doubles and 189 combined victories.

Joining Timko on the Top 10 are Sabrina Anderson of Slippery Rock, Jon Klein of Mercyhurst, Megan Lundy of Shippensburg, Tyler Melius of Slippery Rock, Ben Nolan of Mercyhurst, Matt Peters of California, David Reinhardt of Slippery Rock, Mallory Sanner of Seton Hill, and Alex Zanella of California.
