The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus were monumental devices for Apple due to their dramatic increases in size as well as in sales compared to previous releases. Although the next iteration of the handsetshould be an incremental update to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it doesn't mean it won't be exciting. While we have heard rumors for quite some time, it looks like Apple has finally started manufacturing iPhone's with 'Force Touch'.
According to sources at Bloomberg, Apple has started production on the next iPhone models that are slated to debut later this year. According to the source, although the design of the devices will remain identical to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the new phone will borrow the 'Force Touch' feature that can be found on the Apple Watch and the latest Macbook.
Force Touch is a feature that allows different actions to occur depending on the amount of force that is applied to a trackpad or display. The Apple website explains it best by saying that the display can distinguish the difference between a tap and a press. This will allow for new ways of interaction on a smartphone. While Apple has yet to confirm a release date for their latest iPhone or any of the information above, it will be interesting to see how the company and developers will take advantage of this new technology.
