A Quick, Informal, Approach To Verifying Your Internet Marketing Business Idea

how to start an internet marketing businessYou have a business idea that you think might be a great one.  Congratulations!  It’s an exciting feeling to be on the cusp of taking control over your financial future.  However, before you dive in and start investing your precious time, energy, and money please take some steps to ensure that your ideas is an idea that will help you reach your business goals.

An Informal Assessment

Before you start creating surveys and doing in depth market research, you can get a good idea for the viability of your business by asking the people close to you for their thoughts.  Now please don’t lay out your idea and simply ask your friends and family members if they think it’s a good idea.  You’ll end up with a bunch of opinions.  Opinions are good, information is better.

6 Questions to Ask Friends and Family

Reach out to your friends and family via email, a phone call or face to face.  Explain your business idea.  (You might want to write it out in detail so that they can read your idea and fully understand it).  Then ask the following questions:

1.  Have You Heard Of This Type Of Product Or Service?

The answers you get from this question will help you determine not only if your idea is a viable one, one that you can make money from, the answers can also help you position your business to reach the most people in the best way possible.

2.  Would You Buy This Product Or Service?

This is a key question to examine the quality of your business idea.  If most of your friends or family isn’t interested in your business idea, chances are there’s little or no audience for you.  But don’t stop here, keep asking questions.  The answers may help you tweak your idea to make it a potentially profitable one.

3.  Do You Think That My Business Idea Is A Good One?  Why Or Why Not?

Be sure to ask the second question too.  The answers will provide valuable information to help you fine tune your business idea?

4.  What Challenges Do You Think I Will Encounter?

The answers to this question will help you anticipate challenges you may not have considered.  It can also help you position your business in the most profitable way possible.

5.  What Are The Benefits Of My Business Idea?  What Value Does It Provide?

This question will provide insight about how you can best serve your audience and it will help you create a solid marketing strategy.

6.  Can You Envision Me Selling This Product Or Service?  Why Or Why Not?

Don’t let your feelings get hurt when friends and family answer this question.  Use their answers as a means to overcome your weaknesses and harness your strengths.
