Adobe announces new animation, color, audio cleanup tools coming to Creative Cloud video apps

In conjuction with the IBC 2018 conference in Amsterdam, Adobe today announced new professional features coming to its suite of Creative Cloud video applications. The updates are focused on providing smarter tools with Adobe Sensei integration and enhancing creative workflows.

Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Character Animator, and Audition have seen the most attention in the newest updates of Creative Cloud. Users that work between multiple apps will reap the most benefits, as several changes ripple across the platform and multiply time savings.

Below, Adobe has highlighted several of the more significant additions and features. Those attending IBC will have a chance to get a closer look at the updates by visiting Adobe’s booth from September 13th-18th. Adobe has also compiled an extensive video playlist demonstrating the new features.

Explore new ways to animate -Mold layers into new, dynamic shapes with new Mesh Sculpting tools that twist, bend and scale under your creative control in After Effects. Leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning technology in Adobe Sensei, instantly create and animate unique, stylized puppets using a webcam and reference artwork with Character Animator’s new Characterizer.

Sound better -Instantly improve audio with intelligent clean up tools, DeNoise and DeReverb, in the Essential Sound panel. Dial down or remove background noise and reverb from a sound clip that’s been intelligently adjusted by adaptive algorithms.

Take control of color – Take the guesswork out of curve adjustments and bring simplicity and precision to selective color grading and color management with new Lumetri Color tools in Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Turn data into stories -Drag and drop spreadsheet files to Motion Graphics templates to generate visual representations of information within video projects using data-driven infographics in Premiere Pro.

Jump into immersive video – Add new support features for 180-degree immersive video in Premiere Pro and After Effects, including optimized ingest, effects and output in Google VR 180 for viewing on YouTube or other platforms.

Collaborate seamlessly -Invite groups and individual collaborators for Team Projects and easily access team members from your enterprise address book to choose collaborators and save groups.

Improve Adobe Stock workflows – Search and sort millions of curated, contemporary 4K and HD cinematic footage and professionally-designed Motion Graphics templates, right from the Essential Graphics panel in Premiere Pro and After Effects.

While Adobe faces increased pressure in the graphic design and UX software space, the company’s video apps remain relatively uncontested for pros and consumers alike in terms of feature breadth. Today’s announcements make Creative Cloud an even stronger competitor to Apple’s Final Cut Pro X and Motion.

These new features will roll out in an update to Creative Cloud coming later this year. Adobe’s Project Rush, an easy-to-use, cross-device video editing app, is also expected to exit beta before the end of the year. Creative Cloud plans including video apps begin at $20.99/month for a single app plan.

Outside of the video space, Adobe also recently previewed a major update to Photoshop CC. An all new Content Aware Fill workspace is on the way, leveraging the power of Adobe Sensei to deliver much more consistent and realistic results. You can see the feature in action in the video below. The update should arrive later this year.
