Reggae Boy Liam Moore has joined England Championship side Stoke City, weeks after he was stripped of the Reading FC captaincy after saying he wanted to leave the club.

The deal, which was finalized on Monday's final day of the January transfer window, saw Stoke midfielder Tom Ince, who is of Barbadian heritage and the son of former England defender Paul Ince, move in the opposite direction to the Royals, also on loan.

Centre-back Moore, 29, has agreed to a loan spell until the end of the 2021-22 season and will bolster the Potters defensive options at the Britannia Stadium with Ince putting pen to paper with Reading in a loan deal of the same length.

Moore played for the Reggae Boyz in a World Cup qualifier against Panama in Panama City on Sunday but returned to England to finalize the deal.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Tom to Reading Football Club,” Royals boss Veljko Paunovic said. “He is an exciting player and he knows this division inside out. He will add creativity, pace, and power to our play in the final third. On the other side of this deal, I want to wish Liam Moore an excellent rest of the season.”
