How to Heal a Stiff Neck Naturally

Lots of us have stiff necks… but there are great ways to heal stiff necks.

Massage your neck… a nice relaxing massage can do wonders for a stiff neck and relax all your body at the same time. Stiff necks, tight shoulders are symptoms of stress, so relax, take some time off and do your body good.

Ashwagandha Root Powder is great for helping to peel away stress and allow muscles to relax and feel better, it’s kind of bitter so make sure to take it in capsules.

Boswellia Herb is made from the sap of a tree in Africa… and it’s a great anti-inflammatory agent  that works well for stiff necks. Give it a try, it will work wonders.

Crampbark powder is great for tight, cramping up muscles! Sometimes some of the artificial colors, sweeteners, and all the toxins we have around can cause neck and leg cramps and spasms… and crampbark does the trick.

Passion Flower Tea, Valerian Tea, and Chamomile Tea help relax a tired over worked neck that needs to relax.

Devils Claw Herb works great for pain… much better than all those over the counter drugs that will harm your liver and kidneys.

Capsaicin creams rubbed into your neck will bring relief, relaxing muscles, and allowing the pain to disappear.

If your back is out of alignment then your neck is going to cause you pain, it throws your whole body out of kilter… and going to a chiropractor can make a lot of difference in getting your neck back in shape. For me when I have a neck ache I know my back is out of alignment.

Sleep on a good pillow, having a pillow that is too high… or too low… or too hard or soft… will cause all kinds of neck problems.

Acupressure and Acupuncture also work well for neck pain… find a good acupuncture person in your area. Acupuncture has not been around for over 3,000 years for nothing, it does work.

Ice also work well, if you have lots of pain and swelling… ice will help both the pain and inflammation to subside. Use ice packs for 15 to 20 minutes at a time… or take some small dixie cups and fill them with water and freeze them, then tear down the top a little… and use them as an applicator to apply ice to your neck.  And heat can also help relax muscles… some people advise alternating between heat and ice. And Menthol, Camphor, and Methyl Salicylate creams also work well for neck inflammation and pain.

Poor posture can cause neck pain and stiff necks, if you are looking down on your IPad or Smart Phone all the time that will cause lots of neck pain. Also working at a computer where you have to look up or down or have to look to one side all the time will cause lots of neck pain, make sure to have your work area ergonomically designed for good posture.

Also take breaks, get up, walk around every hour, otherwise your neck is going to revolt and cause you pain.

Breathe Deep, lots of people hold their breath so much that their muscles start to become oxygen deprived from muscles tightening down on blood vessels and nerves. The more your breathe deep the less pain you’ll have.

Also get your body in shape, being over weight and having poor muscle tone can lead to all kinds of neck, back, and shoulder aches and pains.
