Test Android Oreo's new Autofill feature with LastPass public beta

Now that Google launched Android 8.0 Oreo, developers who want to bring their apps on the new mobile platform have begun testing them. One such app is LastPass, a popular password manager, auto form filler and random password generator for Android devices.

The fine folks behind LastPass have just announced a public beta for those who want to test some of the new features that Google included in Android 8.0 Oreo. Specifically, the new version of Android comes with Autofill, a feature that is frequently used by LastPass.

It appears that the new Android Oreo APIs allow LastPass to make use of Autofill for more than just passwords. For example, the Autofill framework now allows the app to recognize credit card forms and addresses.

Some performance and security improvements have been implemented in the latest version of LastPass too, which can be tested by enrolling in the beta program.


The new LastPass public beta is available starting today, but you'll have to opt-in via Google Play Store and leave your feedback on developer's Google+ channel if you feel like it.
